Welcome to the Wilder side of Orinda.Wilder is located just beyond the Caldecott tunnel, on the suburban-urban border between Berkeley and Orinda. Wilder is BART accessible. Orinda’s newest sports facility, Wilder Fields comprises 3 lighted fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby and baseball and features both grass and artificial turf. A former quarry, Wilder boasts over 1600 acres and a variety of ecosystems supporting deer, wild turkeys, barn owls, foxes, rabbits and bald eagles. 300 acres are designated for development containing approximately 245 homesites. Many of the sites have already been sold to local and national developers such as Shappell (now Toll Brothers), Grupe, Branagh, Brook Street and Taylor Morrison.

The community Quarry House was designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and features outdoor gathering spaces, a swimming facility, fitness area and beautiful valley views. Wilder weather is unique - combining both the warmer temperatures of the East Bay and the more temperate climes of the coast. The marine layer rolling over the Berkeley hills is a sight to behold!

Construction is expected to continue for the better part of a decade and is being done in block increments so as to cut costs and be less obtrusive to existing residents. Residents can access a hiking trailhead west of the model home that connects to Sibley Volcanic Preserve & East Bay Regional Park. 30 minutes of hiking up a series of switchbacks and you get a view of both the San Francisco Bay and the Mount Diablo Valley.
